Why is the bottom stitch of my stitch horrible!?
Ok, so I'm very new to sewing and this is my first time sewing with a machine. I've followed the machine instructions correctly and have made sure that the thread is all loaded properly. When I try to stitch, the top stitch looks amazing and perfect, but the bottom stitch is horrible. It's not tight at all like the top one is and it just looks horrible in general. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong!?
This should solve the problem.
Lift the presser foot and pull about 12" of thread through to the needle.
Every time you thread the machine, lift the presser foot first and you will not have to use the above method.
REASON:
When the presser foot is in the "up" position, the tension control is disengaged/open and this allows the top thread to properly seat/drop into the tension mechanism.
When the foot is down, this mechanism closes and the thread cannot drop into place and the tension control cannot regulate the flow of the thread
