Have astronauts made space explorations in the Andromeda Galaxy?

I was just wondering if astronauts have discovered anything in the Andromeda galaxy, considering that it is by far the nearest galaxy from the Milky way. Or if astronauts have ever made space explorations there.

Astronomers have studied it through telescopes, yes, and they've made some important discoveries--in fact, it was by pointing a 'scope at Andromeda that someone discovered that all galaxies have a supermassive black hole at their heart.

Actually no, there are several galaxies closer to the Milky Way than Andromeda--but it's the closest really big one.

Have astronauts been there? That kind of question is so far divorced from reality that it would be laughable if it weren't so common. Then again, I always have to step back to remind myself that most people don't have a detailed knowledge of what we've done in space.

No, the only places astronauts have ever been are Earth orbit and the Moon, and of course in between. Humans haven't visited any other planets in our solar system. In fact we can't even send a probe to our nearest star. Our fastest extrasolar probe, Voyager 1, if it were pointed to the closest star, would take 50,000 years to get there. With some more advances in certain technologies, we *could*, at great expense, build a probe that could get to the nearest star in a century...maybe. So, by extension, no we haven't sent anything/anyone to another galaxy. For frame of reference:

The Moon is about 6 light-seconds away
Jupiter is about one light-hour away at its closest approach
The nearest star is 4.3 light-years away
The Andromeda Galaxy is 2.5 million light-years away
